Real Estate Searches in Enterprise Justice
Presented by The Honorable Michelle C. Ball, Johnston County Clerk of Court, this CLE will review the NC Judgment Search and Smart Search features within Enterprise Justice from a title searching perspective. Clerk Ball will provide insider perspectives, practical tips, and an in-depth analysis, empowering attendees to utilize the full potential of the Enterprise Justice software. While the conversion has been less than perfect, it is a transition that is bringing North Carolina Courts into the 21st Century (or, more accurately, the 1990s).

OOPS!! How Serious is that Mistake? How Can I Fix It?
We all make mistakes and mistakes can be costly. The good news is that there are ways to fix almost all of them before they move from post-closing annoyance to major title claim. Some errors are more easily remedied than others. What are some common errors in deeds and deeds of trust, and what are some suggested solutions?
Troy Crawford serves as Managing Counsel for LM Title. He previously worked for Lawyers Mutual as Claims Counsel focusing primarily on real estate, fraud and technology related matters. Prior to joining Lawyers Mutual, he was a claims and subrogation counsel for Investors Title and was in private practice handling real estate transactions and litigation.
The Right Casserole for the Potluck:
Religious Organizations and Title Insurance
This CLE will be providing an overview of title insurance issues relating specifically to churches and other reli-gious organizations. We will discuss how religious organizations can pose distinct challenges from other entities in real estate transactions and how we can address those challenges from a title insurance perspective.
Ben McManus is currently serving as WFG National Title Insurance Company’s underwriting counsel for NC. He has experience with real property law, estate and elder law, as well as civil litigation. His pro bono work has included preparing end of life planning documents for cancer patients.
